TO AND FROM CHENNAI AIRPORT TRANSPORT
The Chennai International Airport is approximately 20 km from Chennai City; it takes 60 minutes to reach the city center. So, to ease your transfer to and from your destination, the airport offers train, bus, taxi, car rental, rickshaw and private transfer. These services can be booked at the airport or here.
Train Services
There isn’t direct connection between the airport and Chennai city center, the nearest railway station is at 2 km and Central Chennai Railway Station is at 25 km.
You can choose to get to the city center and take the train at Central Chennai Railway Station by suburban railway, bus, taxi, rickshaw or car sharing.
You can get them outside the terminal building, except the bus suburban railway, which is located at 2 km from Chennai International Airport.
Bus Services
The following bus lines take you from Chennai Airport to the city center:
Find direct connection between Chennai International Airport and the city center by several AC buses and regular interurban buses.
Take any of the AC buses and interurban bus lines, especially 1B and 18A bus lines.
Take them outside the terminal building or at the bus stand of GST road, away from the airport.
Airport taxi
Taxis are available outside the terminal building at the taxi lines and also outside Terminal 4.

You can book a pre-paid taxi at the airport. You just need to go to the pre-paid taxi counters located at the Arrivals Gate. Choose this option to avoid overcharges.
Estimated fares from Chennai Airport taxi to the city center are from INR 350 to 500.
Rickshaw
Get to Chennai International Airport to the city center from the Airport in a fast and cheap way.
You can hail a rickshaw anywhere; in the airport, outside the terminal building too.
INR 25.00 for the first 1.8 km and then INR 12.00 per kilometer. The night fare will be applicable from 11 am to 5 pm and will be 50 percent higher than the daytime fare.
Fares for getting from the Airport to the city center are of INR 252.00 (regular) and at night INR 377.00.
